FAQs

Q?

What is practical philosophy?

A.

Practical philosophy values lived experience over theoretical knowledge. The principles and ideas discussed in class can be put into everyday practice. The school draws from the teachings of both the East and the West, embracing a wide range of thinkers, writers, and philosophers throughout history.

Q?

How are the classes formatted?

A.

Classes are interactive and informal. Tutors facilitate discussions in a supportive group environment. Practical exercises are introduced to assist individuals in dealing with the challenges of daily life. There are no examinations, written assignments, or required readings.

Each class runs for 2 1/2 hours and includes a refreshment break in the middle.

Q?

What do I need to bring to class?

A.

Just an open head and heart. No previous philosophical experience is necessary. The school is non-discriminatory and welcomes students of all ages, races, genders, orientations, and educational backgrounds.
